Quantitative PCR

Quantitative PCR:

Led by the team at Institut Pasteur, this sub-study seeks to obtain a global picture of the dissemination of cryptococcus at diagnosis by using the new qPCR methodologies to allow detection of the total nucleic acids of the yeast in various samples (CSF, blood, plasma, urine and sputum). The sub-study will recruit patients from each arm at the Blantyre, Cape Town and Gaborone sites. Tshepiso Mbangiwa, the AMBITION PhD student from Botswana, is contributing significantly to this sub-study, dividing her time between University of Cape Town and Institut Pasteur in Paris.
