As the survey and interviews were so informative in the initial study we have extended the study to include face-to-face students with the LSHTM MSc and students who participate in the modelling short course also run at LSHTM. We are optimistic that there is lots to learn across the different modes of teaching. What similarities will we identify? What differences are there and is it just because of the teaching modes or are we reaching different people?
We envisage that outcomes will include some guiding principles on how we can teach mathematical modelling better, and a modelling primer to assist students with their first steps into this new world of modelling infectious diseases. Watch this space.
