Research<\/h2>\n

Work in the lab focuses on two aspects of trypanosomatid biology.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The uptake and sub-cellular transit of host- and parasite-derived molecules, including nutrients, drugs and innate immune factors.<\/li>\n
  2. The regulation of RNA polymerase-I transcription, specifically rRNA transcription and its intersection with VSG transcription (and antigenic variation) in Trypanosoma brucei<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Work in the lab is underpinned by our bespoke cell lines & plasmids<\/a> (all freely available to the research community on request), <\/span>and our RNAi library and RIT-seq (see Nature Protocols<\/a><\/em>).<\/p>\n
