{"id":1347,"date":"2017-03-09T18:46:04","date_gmt":"2017-03-09T17:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/alsfordlab\/?p=1347"},"modified":"2017-03-14T23:30:25","modified_gmt":"2017-03-14T22:30:25","slug":"welcoming-juan-macedo-to-the-lab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/alsfordlab\/2017\/03\/09\/welcoming-juan-macedo-to-the-lab\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcoming Juan Macedo to the lab"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Juan Macedo joined the lab on the 7th March, supported by a Swiss National Science Foundation early mobility post-doctoral fellowship.<\/p>\n<p>Juan has spent the last few years at the University of Bern working with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibmm.unibe.ch\/about_us\/personen\/prof_dr_buetikofer_peter\/index_eng.html\" target=\"_blank\">Peter Butikofer<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ips.unibe.ch\/research\/plantphys\/index_eng.html\" target=\"_blank\">Doris Rentsch<\/a> on <em>T. brucei<\/em> biochemistry and amino acid transport. After collaborating for the last couple of years on the amino acid transporter project, it&#8217;s a great pleasure to welcome Juan to LSHTM.<\/p>\n<p>Juan&#8217;s now planning to explore the processes underlying <a title=\"PubMed\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/16182389\" target=\"_blank\">rDNA position effect<\/a> in <em>T. brucei<\/em> and its potential role in rDNA transcriptional regulation in <em>T. brucei<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Juan Macedo joined the lab on the 7th March, supported by a Swiss National&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":116,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[32237],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1347","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-people","odd"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
