The Board of the American Friends of the School, a volunteer organisation which helps the School with fundraising, business linkages, profile raising and alumni engagement in the United States, is launching an affiliate member programme to help with its work. It is currently looking for a capable volunteer to support the Secretary to the Board.
This is a chance for early- to mid-career professionals to support the work of the School in improving health worldwide while gaining valuable skills in working closely with a volunteer board of directors.
This is a volunteer position, but the Board will provide an annual stipend of $2,500 and reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses to attend Board meetings in the United States. Applications are open to US residents with an interest in the work of the School and the ability to volunteer for approximately 125 hours per year.
A downloadable pdf with a detailed description of the role and application procedures is available on the American Friends of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine web page. The deadline for applications is 1 September, 2014. Please direct any questions to email@example.com.
