The Anthropology, Policy and Politics Group at the Third Symposium of Health Systems Research, Cape Town

The Anthropology, Policy and Politics Group at the London School consists of a group of social scientists and policy analysts working through a range of methods and disciplines, but with a shared focus on process, on qualitative methods and on applying strong theoretical approaches to empirical analysis.

The group will be represented at the Third Symposium of Health Systems Research in Cape Town.  Join them at their satellite session Understanding health systems as people centred: examples from health policy and practice, on Monday 29 September from 10:30 – 12:30, Room 1.43.

The group are also leading:

  • With colleagues from the Population Council and the International Planned Parenthood Federation, a session on how people-centred health systems can achieve functional service integration: Scaling up integration of HIV and SRH services: Implementing people-centred approaches, on Monday 29 September, from 13.30 – 17.00, Room 1.43.
  • With colleagues from Stellenbosch University, an interactive session examining how health systems should be responding to the challenges posed by climate-change: Planning & Governing Adaptive Health Systems: rising to the climate challenge, on Thursday 2 October from 13.00 – 14.30 (and including lunch) at the Protea North Wharf hotel (walking distance from the Cape Town International Convention Centre).
