FCO Events: Women in the United Nations

From 15 to 17 November 2016, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) together with the United Nations (UN) and others is organising a number of events in London, Birmingham and Durham aimed at encouraging senior level British women to consider jobs at the UN. Speakers will include the World Health Organization (WHO), the UN Talent Outreach team, and former UN employees.

Although places are limited and attendance is by invitation only, postgraduate students, faculty and alumni, from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and staff and students from The Royal College of Defence Studies are welcome to register their interest.

Tuesday 15 November 2016

This event is primarily aimed at senior level women who are considering positions within international legal mechanisms.

When: A breakfast event (time to be confirmed)

Place: Berwin Leighton Paisner Solicitors, London

 

This event is aimed at encouraging senior women in the public sector to consider roles in the UN, including field missions and UN agencies. Please note that this event will have restricted access.

When: An afternoon event (time to be confirmed)

Place: The Foreign & Commonwealth Office

 

Wednesday 16 November 2016

This event is primarily aimed at postgraduates and others who are considering positions in the UN and its agencies, including the WHO.

When: Time to be confirmed

Place: The University of Birmingham

 

Thursday 17 November 2016

This event is primarily aimed at postgraduates and others who are considering positions in the UN and its agencies, including the WHO.

When: Time to be confirmed

Place: Durham University

 

Each event will consist of up to two hours of panel discussions and questions, and an hour of informal networking.
