Last week, Mizuho Shimada, who studied MSc Infectious Diseases through distance learning and graduated in 2015, visited the School for the first time with her daughter and her mother. Mizuho had never been to the UK before this time and managed to visit Scotland as well as London. It was a great pleasure for us to give a tour of the School, hear about Mizuho’s career and life in Japan before and after her MSc and take some photos.
Mizuho is currently an Associate Professor at Jichi Medical University in Tochigi, Japan and she said that studying her MSc through distance learning at the School helped her to gain a wider perspective of her research and broaden her view of the infectious field.
We love to welcome alumni to the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine so if you left the School one, ten or fifty years ago, please don’t hesitate to stop by if you are in London. We can also help you to get a School library card if you live/work in the area and would like to use the library. If you know when you’d like to visit, please email us or call us (020 7299 4772) and let us know, but we don’t mind if you want to drop by spontaneously that’s okay too – just ask reception to give the Alumni Office a call.
We look forward to seeing you!
Alice, Victoria and Natasha.
