Last Thursday, distance learning alumna Dr Cecilia Maramba-Lazarte, MSc Infectious Diseases (2004) and MSc Clinical Trials (2014) came to visit the School. Dr Maramba-Lazarte was in London for a conference and made time to come and say hello to the Alumni Team, before heading back to the Philippines. It was her second time at the School, her first time being more than 10 years ago when she met the then Dean of the School Sir Andy Haines, so it was our pleasure to welcome her once again and give her a guided tour of the building.
Cecilia is currently the Director of the Institute of Herbal Medicine at the University of the Philippines, where she is carrying out research to explore the health benefits of plants and herbs in the Philippines. In addition to this position, she is also a Clinical Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Professor and Assistant Chair for Research at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology College of Medicine. Both of these positions are held at the University of the Philippines.
We enjoy having alumni come to visit us at the School, so if you are in London and would like to stop by, please drop us an to let us know you are coming.
We look forward to seeing you!
