This call is intended for those who have had conference abstracts and\/or presentations accepted HSR2018. Authors should submit their abstract ID for their presented paper along with their submission to check for eligibility. Accepted papers will be published as a special journal supplement of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/healthsystemsresearch.org\/hsr2018\/\">Fifth Global Symposium on Health Systems Research<\/a>, which will take place in Liverpool, UK 8th-12th October 2018. The theme for the call is \u201c<strong>Advancing health systems for all in the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) era<\/strong>\u201d which is also the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/healthsystemsresearch.org\/hsr2018\/theme\/\" target=\"\">theme of the Symposium.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Papers speaking to each of the conference sub-themes below will be welcomed for this special supplement. You can read the full text of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/healthsystemsresearch.org\/hsr2018\/theme\/\" target=\"\">theme and sub-themes on the HSR2018 website Theme page.<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The SDGs as a stimulus for renewed\u00a0<strong>multi-sectoral action<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Polemic and pragmatism:\u00a0<strong>engaging the private sector<\/strong>\u00a0in moving towards universal health coverage.<\/li>\n<li>Leaving no one behind:\u00a0<strong>health systems that deliver for all<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Community health systems \u2013 where\u00a0<strong>community needs<\/strong>\u00a0are located, but often the invisible level of health systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The supplement will have a maximum of 20 articles that cover the main conference sub-themes (i.e. approximately 4-5 papers per sub-theme). All papers will be subject to peer review.<\/p>\n<p>It is our aim that at minimum 50% of accepted papers must come from a low- and\/or middle-income country author, listed as\u00a0corresponding\u00a0author on the paper.<\/p>\n<p>Full manuscripts should be submitted to\u00a0<em>Health Policy and Planning<\/em>\u00a0by\u00a0<strong>20 December 2018\u00a0<\/strong>through the\u00a0<strong>submission link<\/strong>\u00a0on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mc.manuscriptcentral.com\/heapol\" target=\"\">journal website<\/a>. During the submission process please note your paper is to be considered as part of a special issue and provide your abstract ID number.<\/p>\n<p>Original research articles\u00a0as well as review papers\u00a0are invited. Papers that receive positive reviews but are not deemed suitable for this supplement may be considered for individual publication in\u00a0<em>Health Policy and Planning<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Fifth Global Symposium on Health Systems Research will build on the progress achieved by four previous, highly successful symposia in convening health systems researchers, policy-makers, and practitioners from around the world.
