{"id":660,"date":"2014-09-25T09:09:10","date_gmt":"2014-09-25T08:09:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/hppdebated\/?p=660"},"modified":"2014-11-26T12:09:07","modified_gmt":"2014-11-26T11:09:07","slug":"join-us-launch-new-supplement-hsr2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/hppdebated\/2014\/09\/25\/join-us-launch-new-supplement-hsr2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Join us as we launch a new supplement at HSR2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re very excited to be launching a supplement on the &#8216;science and practice of people-centred health systems&#8217;, the theme of the <a href=\"http:\/\/hsr2014.healthsystemsresearch.org\/\">Third Global Symposium on Health Systems Research,<\/a> in Cape Town next week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/hppdebated\/files\/2014\/09\/Untitled.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-661\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/hppdebated\/files\/2014\/09\/Untitled-355x500.jpg\" alt=\"Untitled\" \/><\/a>This collection of studies presents the latest in the field of health policy and systems research, bringing together research from Ethiopia, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, India, Argentina and Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>The term \u2018people-centred\u2019 is relatively new to the health systems debate and focuses on all factors affecting health, not only biomedical solutions. Each of the eleven studies in the supplement investigates different aspects of people-centred health systems, including the experiences of patients, health workers and the community, perceptions of policy-making and the social determinants of health.<\/p>\n<p>The supplement has been edited by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phfi.org\/faculty-a-researchers\/678\">Kabir Sheikh<\/a> (Public Health Foundation of India), Michael Kent Ranson (World Bank) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lshtm.ac.uk\/aboutus\/people\/gilson.lucy\">Lucy Gilson<\/a> (University of Cape Town and London School of Hygiene &amp; Tropical Medicine), with funding from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/alliance-hpsr\/en\/\">Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.idrc.ca\/EN\/Pages\/default.aspx\">International Development Research Centre, Canada<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We hope that it will inform debates in the <a href=\"http:\/\/hsr2014.healthsystemsresearch.org\/\">Symposium <\/a>and beyond the event.<\/p>\n<p>So, join us for breakfast and a panel discussion featuring the authors, editors and sponsors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re very excited to be launching a supplement on the &#8216;science and practice of people-centred&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":151,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16247,24205],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-660","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-health-policy","category-health-systems","odd"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
