The Commonwealth Eye Health Consortium (CEHC) was a 5-year project funded by The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust and coordinated by the International Centre for Eye Health.<\/p>\n

The programme\u00a0was an integrated scheme of fellowships, research and technology aimed at eye health workers based in low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries.<\/p>\n

Following the initial programme, the\u00a0CEHC group of regional eye-health organisations and training\/academic institutions continue to work together for the good of eye health in the Commonwealth<\/p>\n

Facilitated the establishment of new services<\/strong> for diabetic retinopathy<\/a> in 17 countries<\/strong>, retinoblastoma<\/a> in 14 countries<\/strong> and retinopathy of prematurity<\/a> in 6 countries<\/strong>. 8,000 people with DR were treated and national guidelines faciliated in 5 countries. The Rb network has now allowed major research to take place, featuring the majority of Rb cases globally.<\/p>\n
