{"id":3357,"date":"2017-08-08T11:03:43","date_gmt":"2017-08-08T11:03:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/iceh-new\/?p=3357"},"modified":"2017-08-08T11:03:43","modified_gmt":"2017-08-08T11:03:43","slug":"scholarship-opportunity-201819-chevening-scholarship-apply-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/iceh-new\/scholarship-opportunity-201819-chevening-scholarship-apply-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Scholarship Opportunity!: 2018\/19 Chevening Scholarship &#8211; Apply now!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>2018\/19 CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><b><\/b><br \/>\n<strong>Applications are open<\/strong><br \/>\nApplications for 2018\/2019 Chevening Scholarships and some Chevening Fellowships are open.<br \/>\nPlease read the information on this page carefully prior to applying and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chevening.org\/subscribe\">subscribe to our newsletter<\/a> for tips and updates on how to prepare and how to apply.<br \/>\nApplications for 2018\/2019 Chevening Scholarships and some Chevening Fellowships close\u00a0on <strong>7 November 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Before you apply for a Chevening Scholarship<\/strong><br \/>\nBefore starting your Chevening Scholarship\u00a0application, you may wish to familiarise yourself with the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chevening.org\/apply\/eligibility-criteria\">Eligibility criteria<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chevening.org\/apply\/english-language-requirement\">English language criteria<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chevening.org\/apply\/courses\">Courses<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chevening.org\/apply\/references\">References<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chevening.org\/apply\/work-experience\">Work experience<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chevening.org\/apply\/online-application-system\">Online application system<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In order to apply for a Chevening Scholarship<\/strong><br \/>\nOnce applications are open, please navigate to your country&#8217;s application centre in order to start your application. The video below shows you how to get there:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"How to get to your Chevening application centre 2018\/2019\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/biEgLczjti0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In order to submit your Chevening Scholarship application, it is essential that you have the following ready:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid passport\/national ID card<\/li>\n<li>University transcripts and degree certificates (undergraduate, postgraduate)<\/li>\n<li>Three different UK master&#8217;s course choices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may also wish to submit the following optional documents\u00a0if you already meet the requirements.\u00a0You can submit your initial application without these documents, but you will have to\u00a0upload them to your application by\u00a012 July 2018:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>English language test results<\/li>\n<li>UK master&#8217;s university offer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Only documents in PDF format can be uploaded to the online application system, and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.<br \/>\nPlease note that\u00a0if you are eventually conditionally selected for a Chevening Scholarship, it is essential that you\u00a0provide\u00a0evidence that you meet the Chevening English language requirements and that you have at least one unconditional offer from an eligible course before 12 July 2018 in order to remain in the process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>After you have applied for a Chevening Scholarship<\/strong><br \/>\nTo find out what happens once you&#8217;ve submitted your application, please refer to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chevening.org\/apply\/application-timeline\">application timeline<\/a>.<br \/>\nIf you are selected for an interview, please refer to our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chevening.org\/apply\/interviews\">interview guidance<\/a>.<br \/>\nRemember, if you are invited to an interview, you will be required to submit two complete <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chevening.org\/apply\/references\">references<\/a> via the online application system no later than 26 February 2018.
