Dr Kibata was a renowned ophthalmologist and founder of the City Eye Hospitals in Nairobi, Kenya. He also served as Chairman of the Ophthalmology Society of Kenya and a Fellow of the College of Eastern Central and Southern Africa (COECSA). Several of the ICEH team were with him this July at the African Ophthalmology Congress in Kigali.
