{"id":10430,"date":"2026-05-13T15:19:17","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T14:19:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/?p=10430"},"modified":"2026-05-13T15:19:18","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T14:19:18","slug":"mental-health-awareness-week-book-display","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/2026\/05\/13\/mental-health-awareness-week-book-display\/","title":{"rendered":"Mental Health Awareness Week : Book Display"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In support of Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 (11-17 May) (\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mentalhealth.org.uk\/our-work\/public-engagement\/mental-health-awareness-week\">Mental Health Awareness Week<\/a>), we have assembled a display of books from our collection, written from a variety of view points such as self awareness, health promotion and policy. They may be found on the long table at the far side of the Reading Room. <\/p>\n<p>There is a report from the Government Office for Science: &#8220;Mental capital and wellbeing : making the most of ourselves in the 21st century ; final project report &#8211; London : Foresight Mental Health and Wellbeing Project, 2008. (UJ.S.AC)&#8221; The project examined the factors that influence an individual&#8217;s mental development from conception until death and analysed possible future interventions to address future challenges in the UK. There is also &#8220;Essentials of global mental health \/ edited by S.O. Okpaku &#8211; Cambridge : CUP, 2014 (UJ.S)&#8221; , looking at the global burden of mental illness and evidence-based approaches to mental health care. In contrast is &#8220;The wounded storyteller &#8211; 2nd edition \/ by Arthur W. Frank &#8211; Chicago &amp; London : Chicago University Press, 2013 (UJBM)&#8221;, written from a discourse analysis point of view.  These are just 3 titles from the many on display.<\/p>\n<p>The MSc in Global Mental Health has been running since 2014.
