Welcome to all new and returning students from Library, Archive & Open Research Services (or LAORS, for short)!<\/p>\n

Library, Archive & Open Research Services provides access to a huge range of books, journals, electronic resources and archives as well as study space. We provide support and training in finding, managing and sharing information, manage reading lists and the organisation’s Records Management Service, and are responsible for LSHTM’s commitment to Open Access and Research Data Management.<\/p>\n

As you gear up for the new academic year, we\u2019ve curated a special book display in the Library Reading Room. It features a selection of titles from your reading lists to help you get started with your studies at LSHTM.<\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019re visiting the Library for registration, seeking a quiet, comfortable study space, or just exploring, we invite you to check out our book display and see what\u2019s available.<\/p>\n

Beyond the display, we offer a wealth of print and electronic resources to support both your academic work and your leisure and wellbeing time.<\/p>\n

You can easily search and explore all our resources using Discover<\/a>, LAORS\u2019 discovery tool. For practical tips on how to use it, check out our quick video: How to use Discover in under 5 minutes!<\/a><\/p>\n

New students will be receiving an email regarding library inductions at the beginning of term where you can learn about library services and how to access and use resources (print and online) so you can make the best use of our library. We will also publicise those on Moodle as well as publicising via the usual channels (the TV screen, social media, the blog etc) nearer to the time of the sessions themselves which start on Monday September 28. We\u2019ll also be promoting these at a Welcome Fair event happening on Wednesday 23 September.<\/p>\n

Mental Wellbeing<\/strong><\/p>\n

At LSHTM we recognise the importance of wellbeing on your educational journey. There are lots of factors that can affect mental wellbeing, and the charity Mind says that mental wellbeing doesn\u2019t have one set definition. Good mental health days won\u2019t always look the same, and it\u2019s important to figure out what works for you. Some things that Mind<\/a> recommends to improve mental wellbeing include:<\/p>\n
