Archives Service will provide\u00a0trial access for 5 months to the STM Collection in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oxfordscholarship.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Oxford Scholarship Online<\/a> (OSO). \u00a0The STM Collection is being made available by EBA (Evidence Based Acquisition), which means that at the end of the trial the Library will decide which\u00a0books to keep in perpetuity based on usage figures. \u00a0Similar to the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/2016\/05\/18\/ebook-central-trial\/\">Ebook Central<\/a> trial also running, these acquisition models enable readers to have\u00a0direct input into shaping the Library&#8217;s eBook collection.<\/p>\n<p>Subjects covered include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Biology<\/li>\n<li>Mathematics<\/li>\n<li>Neuroscience<\/li>\n<li>Palliative Care<\/li>\n<li>Physics<\/li>\n<li>Psychology<\/li>\n<li>Public Health &amp; Epidemiology<\/li>\n<li>Social Work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The trial will provide School staff and students with full text access to academic monographs in the above subjects, with each title having been extensively peer-reviewed and approved for publication by leading academics from Oxford University. \u00a0OSO is regularly updated, with new titles being added most months.<\/p>\n<p>Access to OSO is by IP address. \u00a0Readers can access content from inside the School, or if accessing remotely by using their School username and password.<\/p>\n<p>OSO allows users to streamline and customize their search experience. \u00a0Search options include several\u00a0ways to filter results, abstracts and keywords are available at book and chapter level, and access options are quickly identifiable (a green unlocked padlock indicates full text access). \u00a0Users can customize their searches by creating shortcuts, sharing content, exporting citations, building reading lists, and viewing content in multiple formats. \u00a0Chapters can be printed, or downloaded for viewing later. \u00a0OSO is also fully mobile optimized.<\/p>\n<p>We hope that you will find access to these titles on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oxfordscholarship.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Oxford Scholarship Online<\/a> a useful addition to the Library&#8217;s eBook provision. \u00a0This is a trial period so we are keen to hear feedback about content, search experience, accessibility or any other OSO-related comments. \u00a0You can get in touch by emailing <a href=\"mailto:collections@lshtm.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\">collections@lshtm.ac.uk<\/a>\u00a0or on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LSHTMlibrary\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the\u00a028 June 2016 the Library &amp;
