{"id":2903,"date":"2016-08-19T15:06:07","date_gmt":"2016-08-19T15:06:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/?p=2903"},"modified":"2016-08-19T15:06:07","modified_gmt":"2016-08-19T15:06:07","slug":"ebook-central-dda-trial-comes-to-an-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/2016\/08\/19\/ebook-central-dda-trial-comes-to-an-end\/","title":{"rendered":"Ebook Central DDA trial comes to an end"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the last couple of months the Library has been running a trial of &#8216;Demand-driven Acquisition&#8217; (DDA) on ProQuest&#8217;s Ebook Central platform. \u00a0This has enabled users to search for ebooks in Ebook Central via the Library&#8217;s Discover search tool, and make requests for the Library to purchase ebooks that are of interest to them. In addition to making requests, ProQuest also allowed users to get a free five minute preview of any ebook.<\/p>\n<p>The Library will now look at data from the trial to help make decisions on taking DDA further. \u00a0If you have any feedback on the trial (e.g. searching for ebooks in Discover, ProQuest interface, ease of making a request, feedback from the Library on requests etc), comments can be sent to <a href=\"mailto:collections@lshtm.ac.uk\">collections@lshtm.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, the Library is running a trial\u00a0with Oxford Scholarship Online, providing access to the STM Collection via &#8216;Evidence-based acquisition&#8217; (EBA). \u00a0This trial finishes in November 2016. \u00a0Further details can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/2016\/06\/13\/oxford-scholarship-online-trial\/\">here<\/a>. \u00a0Both EBA and DDA are forms of &#8216;Patron-driven acquisition&#8217;
