Bibliotherapy is an expressive therapy\u00a0which uses reading to support good mental health.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2017\/10\/20171024_162646-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"220\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4226\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2017\/10\/20171024_162646-1-300x220.jpg\" alt=\"20171024_162646\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2017\/10\/20171024_162646-1-300x220.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2017\/10\/20171024_162646-1-768x564.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2017\/10\/20171024_162646-1-1024x751.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2017\/10\/20171024_162646-1.jpg 1597w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From time to time, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lshtm.ac.uk\/study\/studentservices\/student-advice-counselling-service\">Student Advice &amp; Counselling Service<\/a> select books\u00a0to support students, and the Library acquires and shelves them in the main collection. These self-help books enable students to read about strategies which\u00a0might help them deal with any issues they\u00a0are\u00a0encountering. Topics covered in the collection include self-esteem, assertiveness, relationships, mindfulness, mental health, bereavement, insomnia, depression, stress, cognitive behavioural techniques, and study skills.<\/p>\n<p>All the books can be found by searching in the Library&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/discover.lshtm.ac.uk\">Discover<\/a>\u00a0search tool. Most of the self-help books are shelved in the Library&#8217;s Barnard Room under the &#8216;UJ&#8217; classmark, but check on Discover first to make sure.\u00a0 Some related topics and their classmarks are: study skills &#8211;
