{"id":6208,"date":"2019-04-25T13:03:34","date_gmt":"2019-04-25T13:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/?p=6208"},"modified":"2024-03-25T16:21:52","modified_gmt":"2024-03-25T16:21:52","slug":"rcuk-open-access-funding-now-available-for-oa-journals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/2019\/04\/25\/rcuk-open-access-funding-now-available-for-oa-journals\/","title":{"rendered":"RCUK Open Access Funding &#8211; Now Available for OA Journals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As announced last month, we are now in receipt of our new grant to help pay for open access fees for publications emerging from Research Councils UK funded research (with a grant end date of March 2020 or when funds are fully allocated).<\/p>\n<p>As was the case <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.lshtm.ac.uk\/library\/2018\/03\/09\/rcuk-open-access-funding-update\/\">last year<\/a>, to help make the best use of the available funds, we are limiting the funds to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>research articles<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>acknowledging an <strong>RCUK grant<\/strong> held at LSHTM<\/li>\n<li>published in <strong>fully open access journals<\/strong> (not subscription journals with the\u00a0<em>option<\/em> of paid-for open access)<\/li>\n<li>up to a maximum of<strong> \u00a32500 per article<\/strong> (you can check the open access fee on the journal website, or ask us to check if you are unsure)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Funds will be made available to eligible articles on receipt of a completed application submitted via <a href=\"https:\/\/lshtm.topdesk.net\/tas\/public\/ssp\/content\/serviceflow?unid=f5de0b4ea5674b0a83d5f6e7bd7b850d\">ServiceDesk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We recommend that you apply for funds around the point of submission to ensure funds are available for you, since funding is not guaranteed otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>If you are not eligible for funding for paid-for (&#8216;gold&#8217;) open access, please note you can usually meet your funder&#8217;s open access requirements by depositing the accepted manuscript in LSHTM Research Online at the point of acceptance for publication (you can deposit through the new <a href=\"https:\/\/elements.lshtm.ac.uk\">Elements<\/a> publications system.)
