Under the theme \u201c<strong>Take the rights path:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>My health, my right!\u201d<\/strong>, WHO is calling on global leaders and citizens to champion the right to health by addressing the inequalities that hinder progress in ending AIDS.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>World AIDS Day is an opportunity to reflect on the progress made to date, raise awareness about the challenges that remain to achieve the goals of ending AIDS by 2030 and mobilize all stakeholders to jointly redouble efforts to ensure the success of the HIV response.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In 2023, an estimated 39.9 million people were living with HIV globally<\/li>\n<li>Approximately 630\u00a0000 people died from HIV\u2011related causes in 2023<\/li>\n<li>An estimated 1.3 million people acquired HIV in 2023<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further information can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/campaigns\/world-aids-day\/2024\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Library collections contain print and online resources on the topic.
