Sustainable Programme Incorporating Nutrition & Games to Maximise child Development, Growth & Survival – SPRING for MDG’s is an innovative research programme whose goal is to develop and then evaluate a feasible, affordable and sustainable community-based approach that can achieve delivery at scale of known effective interventions that will maximise child development, growth and survival. Our vision is to work in close collaboration with governmental partners in India and Pakistan to develop an intervention which is integrated with existing health services, delivered by low-cost community based agents (CBAs), through home visits during pregnancy, through the first two years. The SPRING intervention package has been designed using participation research methods to be feasible, affordable and appropriate for delivery at scale.

In India the SPRING Package is being called Kilkarri (the laughter of a child), and in Pakistan, Roshan Kal (Brighter Tomorrow).
