Our Research

Initial projects:

The wider NIHR School for Public Health Research (SPHR) has initiated its five year research programme with a number of mainly small, formative studies addressing the School’s key research themes.

SPHR@L’s initial focus has been on ‘Cultures of Evidence’ and we have undertaken two projects examining ‘Evidence beyond the Health Sector’ through a systematic review and ethnography study.

School-wide programmes:

Drawing on SPHR’s collective expertise and collaborative ethos, School-wide programmes are being developed aimed at addressing three major public health challenges:

  • Alcohol
  • Ageing well
  • Inequalities

SPHR@L will be leading on the Alcohol strand, whilst also contributing to projects within the other themes. Commencement of projects took place in Autumn 2013 so keep an eye on our website for progress updates and outcomes.
