DR SUZAAN MARAIS
Dr Suzaan Marais is a Neurologist based at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital, a quaternary public sector hospital in Durban, and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of the Free State in 1995 and obtained my FC Neurol (SA) degree in 2012. Dr Marais research, which she has been conducting since 2008, focuses on HIV-associated central nervous system infections. She was awarded a Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellowship in Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 2012 and subsequently obtained her PhD that investigated HIV-associated tuberculous meningitis from the University of Cape Town in 2014.
