The PAMVERC Team in Benin is expanding.
We are seeking to recruit a Research Assistant or Research Fellow to support the delivery of the entomology components of a randomised controlled Trial (RCT) on vector control interventions involving the most promising new generation of long lasting insecticidal net. The RCT aims to produce evidence on the efficacy of two type of dual active ingredient LLIN’s compared to standard LLIN against malaria infection and transmission by resistant mosquito populations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of high profile research that will help define future malaria control policy of the WHO and African member states.
The post-holder will support all the entomological components of the project and should therefore be organized and able to work under pressure; will work within a larger multi-disciplinary team so excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential as well a strong team spirit; will support the planning, implementation and the supervision of the routine entomological surveillance, the insecticide resistance monitoring, hut trial and standard WHO phase III durability and efficacy study.
The candidate will report to the study PI and work closely with the overseas LSHTM entomologist (Co-I) based in Benin, and other scientists from LSHTM and Centre de Recherche Entomologique de Cotonou (CREC).
This is a full time position based overseas in Cove, Benin. The post is available immediately and is currently funded up to August 2022.
