2023 Emtree term changes

Elsevier Embase logoAfter writing about the changes to MeSH terms, the Emtree terms have also been updated. The full list of new/edited terms for 2023 and changes made in previous years, can be found in the Embase Support Centre.

Emtree terms work in the same way as MeSH terms but are used in the Embase database [LSHTM username and password required]. Embase was originally put together to focus on pharmaceutical information and Emtree still has a strong focus on pharmaceutical terms. However, it covers all of healthcare-related fields. Emtree terms are not retrospectively altered, therefore any new terms are only added to future records, records which are already indexed in Embase will not be changed.
