Missed our Foundation Skills training? Now available online!

We have now finished all our Foundation training sessions on finding and accessing the Library literature.  We had record attendance by our London-based students, and feedback for the sessions has been generally positive and constructive.  Many thanks to everyone who came along, the Library staff enjoyed meeting you!

If you were unable to find time to attend our sessions in the Reading Room, or if you are one of our Distance Learning students not based in London, do not despair!  For the first time ever, the Library is making these sessions available to students as an e-learning module on Moodle.  The module covers the content of both the foundation sessions – Foundation 1: Finding and item on a reading list and citing it in an assignment, and Foundation 2: Effective literature searching in Google and PubMed.  The module includes videos, links to further helpful information, and fun quizzes to check your understanding. It also includes a final assessment to test your learning.  You can access the module here: https://ble.lshtm.ac.uk/mod/scorm/view.php?id=39442

This is the first time the Library has offered the training in this format, and we’re very excited to see how it turns out.  Any and all feedback on the session will be gratefully received – either fill in the short Feedback task on Moodle, or email your thoughts to infoskills@lshtm.ac.uk.
