This October HEART UK are raising awareness about the effects of high cholesterol. Cholesterol is a natural fatty substance in your blood, which is important in keeping our bodies cells healthy. However, if you have too much cholesterol, it can increase the risk of having a heart attack or a stroke. Anyone can have high cholesterol, it can be caused by different things some you can control and others you cannot. Fortunately, there are lots of ways to lower your cholesterol including doing regular exercise, cutting down on alcohol and cigarette consumption and eating less of the foods which increase cholesterol. https://www.bhf.org.uk/informationsupport/risk-factors/high-cholesterol
