This Wednesday 14 June is World Blood Donor Day, a day intended to thank voluntary blood donors worldwide, raise awareness of the need for global access to safe blood transfusions, and encourage regular voluntary and unpaid blood donation from healthy individuals. This year’s theme is “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.”
In keeping with the day’s theme, please do take a look at the Library’s current book display on the theme of blood and plasma donations and transfusions! Many of our volumes on blood have shelf marks beginning with PY, where more volumes on the topic of haematology can be found. Volumes on blood transfusion in particular can be found at the shelf mark ROT.
